Weddings

We are now able to offer you the opportunity to marry within historic Abbey House.  Dating back to the mid C16th but with C13th foundations, this unique property has a most wonderful atmosphere.

If you are looking for an intimate, familial and quite unique environment this could be the place for you.  Whether your ceremony involves just you and your witnesses or you need room for 130 we have a space for you. 

Choose the panelled hall for parties of 40, the library with its beautiful view over the river gardens for up to 100, or the Belvedere for larger informal parties, perfect in the summer with its tree top vistas.

If you wish to plan some catering in the gardens following your ceremony, we can offer you use of two small marquees for drinks, canapes or even a sit down wedding breakfast.

We give you the services of our professional wedding planner to do as much or as little as you'd wish to ensure the smooth running of your day whether you want just a civil ceremony and photographs in the beautiful gardens or stay on to follow with a reception which might be just a cake and champagne, canapes or a three course bespoke wedding breakfast complete with harp, string quartet and even a magician for the children!
