How to find us using your car
From the south-west or south-east
Travel along the M4 and head north at junction 17 for 5 miles on the A429. Follow signs for Malmesbury.
From the north-west or north
Travel south along the M5 to junction 11a. Follow signs to Cirencester and then a further 10 miles south to Malmesbury along the A429.
Parking
On arriving in Malmesbury, follow the brown signs to the Long Stay car park on the north side of town. Parking charges apply Monday to Saturday 9.00 – 6.00.
From the long stay car park on foot walk across Mill Lane Bridge, climb Abbey Steps (63) and enter Abbey House Gardens left of the Cloister Garden.
To avoid Abbey Steps (63), park in the Town Centre Short Stay car park (2 hours max stay Monday to Saturday, free Sunday) found in the town centre at Cross Hayes. On foot from the short stay car park in Cross Hayes, Abbey House Gardens lie two minutes walk away. Walk along Market Lane to the left of the Town Hall. Pass the Tourist Information Centre and turn left towards the 15th Century Market Cross. At the Market Cross turn right and find the entrance to Abbey House Gardens along the lane to the right of "The Whole Hog" public house.
