Spraying and Weeding Lawns

If your putting some effort into the care of your grass for the first time you've most probably got a lawn with a few moss and weeds and undesirables in it. Attack the weeds before starting to tend the grass... the weeds take up valuable space and nutrients and will only spread if left unattended.

George will spray the grass in March before the growth returns paying particular attention to patchs of moss. Use and iron based solution to kill off the moss which quickly turns brown. Good garden centres will sell solutions called feed and weed. Apply these on a moist day, after rain if possible for maximum impact.

Georges big tip is to carry a small swiss army knife in your pocket at all times. If you see Dandelions starting to develop then whip them out with the blade ensuring the full tap root is removed to prevent regrowth.
