England’s Oldest Borough has wonderful architecture most of which was built long before any concept of cars!
History is everywhere and a visit to Malmesbury is not complete without a visit to Malmesbury Abbey to inform you as much as possible you might like to pick up one of the guides from our Tourist Information Centre in Market Lane which is close to the short stay car park and bus stops at Cross Hayes in the Town’s Centre.

You can arrange a visit to the Old Courthouse (recently featured in the BBC drama "Lark Rise to Candleford") by calling 01666 823338 and learn about the thousand year heritage enjoyed by some of Malmesbury’s families - the Warden and Freemen of Malmesbury.
There is a river walk which almost encircles the ancient hill, details of which can be picked up from the Tourist Information Centre.
The Athelstan Museum is situated in the town hall complex just by the short stay car park in Cross Hayes.
We have a wonderful Farmers Market that gathers on the second and fourth Saturday of each month in the Market Cross, just outside the entrance to our gardens.
